The Age Of Atlantis : Premium Quality at One Price

Here's how this all started... Grab your popcorn!
I walked into a store in Lekki looking for a scented candle. Mind you just a candle, you know that thing you light and forget about. The salesgirl smiled, picked up a glass jar, and said, "This one is ₦85,000."
I looked at the candle, then I looked at her. Then I looked at the candle again....I was like bro, I don't understand! I did the conversion to USD in my head and even high end candles in Europe don't cost the same as a spa weekend.
Does it come with a generator? Or is the wax made out of the skin of Jesus? I asked her because I was genuinely shocked at the audacity of the rip off.
She did not laugh. She said it was "imported." Apparently "imported" is a Nigerian word that means "we're going to be unrealistic with the price." Even I that didn't grow up in this country started wondering where it was imported from? Which country could make a candle have such an unreasonable price. Like was it imported from Noah's arc, because please explain to me how?
Anyway I left the amatuers. But I couldn't stop thinking about it. Not even the price, the gatekeeping. Somewhere along the line, someone decided that beautiful things should only live in houses with interlocking paving stones and a gate that opens by itself. That if you want a nice home, you must first produce evidence that you're willing to be unreasonable with your own hard earned cash.
Even if I have a tree sprouting out millions on a daily basis, I still wouldn't buy a single candle for that amount. Not because I can't afford it, but because I'm not stupid
So that experience is the basis of Atlantis.
The idea is embarrassingly simple: we find the high-end stuff, the "imported" candles that actually smell nice, the stoneware, the gadgets,
The linen, the glass, the woven baskets, the gorgeous fashion you see and wish you could afford, the Jewellery, that Smartphone you've been eyeing but feel its out of your reach, and we decided to put one price on all of it.
End of gatekeeping. Full stop!
Because I decided,₦12,000 for everything. Now, Always and even in the future it won't change.
"Why would you do that?" a friend asked me. "You're leaving money on the table."
I said, "No. I'm leaving money on the shelf, where people can actually reach it." In this economy no need to complicate things even further, let's make what people desire actually affordable especially when I can afford to.
Here's the part people misunderstand about "high-end." Most of what you pay for in a ₦100,000 item isn't the item. It's the rent on the shop, the imported box, the influencer who took a photo with it, and the assumption that you'll pay because you don't know better.
We removed all of that. What's left is the thing itself, and the thing itself costs ₦12,000.
This is the age of Atlantis. Beautiful things, one price, no negotiation, no "madam it's the last one." No pretending you didn't hear when I asked for the price and the quality? Yes it's actually truly imported with premium quality.
So feel welcome, pick something up and relax knowing no one is here to rip you off.
Get more value for your hard earned cash.
