Buy From Shops Near You Without the Gamble

Everyone who shops online in Nigeria has met "payment validates order". You find what you want on Instagram or WhatsApp, the price is right, and then you have to send money to someone you've never met and hope it turns into a parcel.

The Paylo app is built so you don't have to hope. You find shops near you, see what each one has promised, and pay in a way that keeps your money safe until your order is in your hands.

Find it near you

The Discover tab works out where you are and shows what's in stock at shops around you: new arrivals, deals, finds under budget, free-delivery picks and the newest shops in your area. It refreshes every week. The local feed is live in some states and coming to more.

Search covers products and stores, and only shows stores Paylo has verified. If you don't know what something is called, take a photo of it and search with that.

If a search comes up empty in an area where sourcing is live, tap Ask The Plug. Our sourcing partners hunt it down and send you quotes. Pick one, pay in the app and track it like any other order.

Know who you're buying from

Every store page tells you who you're dealing with before you spend a naira: where the shop is, when it joined Paylo, what delivery costs and whether it's open right now. When a shop is about to close, you'll see "Closes in 40 min", so you know whether a same-day order will make it.

Stores can sign promises such as "Delivers today", "Genuine products" and "Replies fast". They show as green badges on the store page, so you can see exactly what a seller has committed to.

Ratings only appear once a store has enough reviews to mean something, so one early review can't make or break a shop. You rate what you bought straight from your order, one item at a time, with a photo if you like.

Your money waits until your order arrives

When you pay in the Paylo app, the money doesn't go to the shop. We hold it in escrow. The shop can see you've paid and gets to work, but it can't touch the money until your order reaches you.

When your order arrives, press and hold to confirm, and the shop gets paid. The hold is there so a stray tap can't release your money by accident.

If the shop never picks up your order, you don't have to chase anyone. A store that doesn't accept a paid order within 6 daytime hours loses it, and your money comes straight back to you as Paylo Credits.

If what arrives isn't what you ordered, report it before your protection window closes. Your money stays held while we look at the evidence from both sides.

Watch it come to you

On iPhone, your order appears on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island the moment you pay, and moves from paid to on its way to delivered. When it arrives, you can confirm it from there too.

You can message any store from a product or store page, with the item already filled in, even when it's out of stock and you want to ask about a restock. If the shop sends you a cart in the chat, open it and pay without leaving the conversation. It's protected like any other order.

Same-day promises stay honest. Once a shop's dispatch time for the day has passed, the app stops telling you your order might still arrive today.

Save it now, buy it later

When you see something you like on Instagram, TikTok or anywhere else, share it to Paylo and it lands on a wishlist with a name, photo and price filled in. Share a haul photo and Paylo saves each product as its own item.

Make a wishlist public and share it by link or QR code, and friends can send money towards anything on it. Fees are added on top of a gift, not taken out, so ₦5,000 sent is ₦5,000 received. Your friends can sign the gift or send it anonymously.

Pay your way

Pay by card, bank transfer or USSD through Paystack, or in USDT or USDC. Cards you use are saved for one-tap checkout next time. If you have Paylo Credits from a refund, a gift or a referral, they can cover the whole order.

You see the delivery fee and the full total, including any card processing fee, before you pay. And if you bought from a Paylo shop's till, scan the QR code on your paper receipt and the same order lands in your cart, ready to buy again.
