Paylo Pricing Explained: What You Pay and How to Pick a Plan

Most pricing pages give you one number. Paylo's has two, and that trips people up: there's the plan you pay for (which can be ₦0), and the transaction fee you pay per sale (which drops as you move up). Once you see how those two work together, choosing a plan takes about a minute. Here's the whole thing, plainly.

The plans at a glance

Plan Price Platform fee per sale Best for
Free ₦0 5% Getting started, testing an idea
Pro ₦150,000/year (or ₦90,000 per 6 months) 2% Growing stores doing ~₦400k+/month
Business ₦250,000/year (or ₦150,000 per 6 months) 0% Serious volume, multicurrency, own brand
Enterprise Custom 0% Large operations needing SLAs and API access

Every plan includes the core: unlimited products and services, a mobile-responsive storefront, Paystack checkout, crypto payments through Breet, and inventory and order management. Higher plans add tools, not permission to sell more.

The two costs, separated

1. The plan. A subscription, billed every six months or once a year. The Free plan costs nothing and never expires, no card required.

2. The platform fee. Paylo's cut of each completed sale: 5% on Free, 2% on Pro, 0% on Business. Refunded orders aren't charged.

That's the trade the plans offer: pay a subscription, and Paylo takes a smaller slice of every sale. At low volume the fee is tiny and the subscription isn't worth it. At high volume the fee adds up fast and a subscription that shrinks it pays for itself. The whole decision is finding where those two lines cross, which we'll do below.

What "0% platform fee" does and doesn't mean

This is the part worth reading twice. Paylo's platform fee is separate from the payment processing fee your provider charges to move the money.

  • Card and bank payments run through Paystack.
  • Crypto payments run through our partner Breet, converted to naira automatically.

Those processing fees apply on every plan, including Business. "0% platform fee" means Paylo takes nothing on the Business plan, not that the payment rails are free. So on Business your customers still pay standard Paystack processing on a card sale; you just don't pay Paylo a platform fee on top.

Billing: six months or a year, and why annual is cheaper

Plans are billed every six months or annually, not monthly. Paying for a full year costs less than paying six-monthly twice:

  • Pro: ₦150,000 for the year, versus ₦180,000 if you pay ₦90,000 twice. The annual plan saves you ₦30,000.
  • Business: ₦250,000 for the year, versus ₦300,000 in two payments. The annual plan saves you ₦50,000.

If you're committing to a paid plan, annual is the cheaper way to do it. You can see the live prices on the pricing page.

Which plan should you actually pick?

Because a paid plan trades a subscription for a lower per-sale fee, it only saves you money once your sales are big enough that the fee saving beats the subscription. That tipping point lands at roughly ₦5,000,000 in sales a year, about ₦400,000 a month. (Payment processing fees are the same on every plan, so they don't change this comparison.)

₦0 ₦200k ₦400k ₦600k ₦0 ₦17k ₦33k ₦50k ₦0 ₦3m ₦6m ₦9m ₦12m ₦0 ₦250k ₦500k ₦750k ₦1m Your sales per year Your sales per month Free Pro Business ₦5m/yr ₦417k/mo Free is cheapest Business is cheapest
Cost by plan as your sales grow. Switch between yearly and monthly views. All three cost the same at about ₦5m a year, ₦400k a month. Below that, Free is cheapest; above it, Business.
  • Below ~₦400k/month: the Free plan is your cheapest option, full stop. The 5% fee costs you less here than any subscription would, so the money a paid plan would have cost is better spent on stock and delivery.
  • Around ₦400k/month: all three plans cost about the same, so pick the one with the features you need rather than the lowest price.
  • Over ₦400k/month: Business Plan clearly wins, because 0% on a large volume saves far more than the ₦250,000 it costs.

Two quick examples:

  • You sell ₦300,000/month (₦3.6m/year). Free costs 5%, about ₦180,000 in fees for the year, and ₦0 subscription. Pro costs ₦150,000 plus 2% (₦72,000), so ₦222,000. Free Plan wins.
  • You sell ₦1,000,000/month (₦12m/year). Free costs 5%, ₦600,000. Business costs ₦250,000 plus 0%. Business saves you ₦350,000.

The features climb with the plans too: Pro adds staff accounts, basic logistics integration and priority support; Business adds multicurrency, advanced logistics, white-label branding and a free .com domain; Enterprise adds a dedicated account manager, custom API access and SLAs. But for most sellers, the math is what decides it.

FAQ

Bottom line

Paylo pricing is two numbers working together: a plan and a per-sale fee, one falling as the other rises. Under about ₦400,000 a month, Free is genuinely your best deal. Past it, a paid plan pays for itself.
